POMkin Samples and Feedback
Share
Hello beautiful humans!
The POMkin group buy is in full swing and the samples have been sent out to four different people to help give me some feedback! Out of those four people, I have already heard back from two, which some of you may have already seen their content! Both Bokehhbob and Weebsandkeebs have put out some great sound tests featuring the POMkins and have also given me much needed feedback on the feel of these switches.
From their feedback and my own testing, it seems the POMkins are leaning a little too far on the heavy side. We definitely don't want anyone getting hand cramps or fatigue when using POMkins! This is why I have already been in contact with the manufacturer about changing the spring size/weight and possibly getting some new samples. The decision I am now facing is which spring to go with as it will change the bottom out force and actuation of the switch. Right now I am thinking of going with a 58g double staged spring; actuation would be ~46g with the bottom out being 58g. This would still leave the POMkins on the mid-heavy side of linear switches, without making them as tiring.
(Pictured below is the current spring 63.5g double stage)
So definitely stay tuned for another update about new samples and final spring decisions! Also, please feel free to comment below what your preferred actuation and bottom out forces are for linear switches, I would love to hear from you awesome folks. Thank you again for joining me on this crazy journey and supporting the group buy! I sincerely appreciate each and every one of you humans.
P.S. Stay tuned later this week for another update on packaging and what goodies possibly come with your purchase!
